Slicer API documentation outdated

lasso2

Hi all,

Slicer API documentation (https://www.slicer.org/doc/html/) was generated on Tue Oct 18 2016 01:18:26.

Could somebody have a look why it is not built every night?

Thanks,

Andras

Re: Slicer API documentation outdated

@Steve, Mike: Look like the maintainer of "love.bwh.harvard.edu" need to have a look at the deployment script and make sure the documentation is pushed on the new infrastructure hosted on digitial ocean ?  See details below.

Moving forward, I was thinking to look into transitioning to sphinx + breathe (https://github.com/michaeljones/breathe) and publish the documentation on readthedocs.

8<---8<---8<---8<---8<---8<---8<---8<---8<---8<---8<---8<---8<---8<---8<---8<---
From Kitware sysadmin team:

Here is what I currently see on public:

public:/home/kitware/filepush/slicer# ls -lha /projects/Slicer/WWW/doc
[...]
-rw-r--r-- 1 kitware kitware  75M Mar 13 01:35 Slicer-cpp.tar.gz
-rw-r--r-- 1 kitware kitware  74M Apr  9  2015 Slicer-html.tar.gz
-rw-r--r-- 1 kitware kitware 112K Mar 13 01:35 SlicerWizard.tar.gz

These files can be access via:
http://public.kitware.com/SlicerWizard.tar.gz
http://public.kitware.com/Slicer-cpp.tar.gz

I can see that they are getting pulled from a machine at Harvard:
access.log:134.174.9.30 - - [12/Mar/2017:19:07:33 -0400] "GET
/SlicerWizard.tar.gz HTTP/1.0" 200 114076 "-" "Wget/1.11.4 Red Hat
modified"
access.log:134.174.9.30 - - [13/Mar/2017:06:04:47 -0400] "GET
/SlicerWizard.tar.gz HTTP/1.0" 200 114064 "-" "Wget/1.11.4 Red Hat
modified"

public:/var/log/apache2# host 134.174.9.30
30.9.174.134.in-addr.arpa domain name pointer love.bwh.harvard.edu.

However www.slicer.org resolves to a different ip address which
appears to be at digitalocean, a cloud hosting company:

$ host www.slicer.org
www.slicer.org has address 198.199.121.96

I'm not sure all the details since we are not hosting it, but perhaps
the site has been moved but the update script hasn't been?

Jc,

You are correct, we are not pulling the files to the new file server.

Steve and I just talked about this, and the easiest way to fix the problem would be for slicer.org to either proxy or redirect temporarily to public.kitware.com for the docs.  This transfer-expand-serve thing doesn’t seem to buy us anything, and it’s relatively easy to set up the proxy.

You’re probably right about the long term future of the docs, but that sounds like a more involved project….
