Windows 10 build

Juan Carlos Prieto
Dear all,

I am trying to build Slicer (533f2c7fc88a83df1900a7838db803d2f0e77e0b  Wed Mar 1 18:59:52 2017) on a Windows 10 machine, with Visual Studio 2015.

I have the following error when the project 'python' is building:

Error C2065 'timezone': undeclared identifier
docs\GitHub\Slicer-bin\Python-2.7.11\Modules\timemodule.c

Does anybody know of a working configuration to build Slicer on a Windows 10 machine?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Best,

Juan

Probably the simplest option is to pull this patch locally: https://github.com/python-cmake-buildsystem/python-cmake-buildsystem/issues/161

Re: Windows 10 build

Dzenan Zukic
Hi Juan,

last time I tried, Slicer did not compile properly with VS2015. I think I stopped trying to fix compile errors when I discovered that numpy does not compile under VS2015. Isaiah already pointed you to the patch I made for Python (back when I tried compiling). I think that CTK did not compile for me as well. After applying the python patch you can try newer versions of numpy and CTK and see how it goes. If you make progress, please let us know and make a pull request!

Regards

Dženan Zukić, PhD, Senior R&D Engineer, Kitware (Carrboro, N.C.)

Hi Juan,
I can't tell if it was pushed anywhere, probably need to apply it manually (to the python tree inside the superbuild directory).
Best,
Isaiah

Re: Windows 10 build

Hi Juan,

If you don’t want to be a pioneer of VS2015 Slicer build, you can always build using VS2013, which is the officially supported VS version.

However we’d appreciate you trying with VS2015!

They seem to be trying a little harder to hide the old downloads behind MSDN now, but I believe this should work: https://www.visualstudio.com/en-us/news/releasenotes/vs2013-community-vs
